Northwest Holiday

Be Our Guests for Christmas Merriment

table decorThe holidays are a very special time for our family, and we invite you to come to Seattle and help us celebrate the holiday season. The day after Thanksgiving we unpack the Spode Christmas China and swap it out for our everyday dishes for breakfast, because we love every festive touch. Christmas linens and stacks of holiday napkins get ironed for the coming weeks, and the decorating begins.  Every room in the house is decorated from top to bottom, including five Christmas trees ranging from 8 inches to 8 feet tall.  The 8-foot Christmas Tree is trimmed in “Everything Snowmen,” while large sparkling snowflakes and garland trim the windows. Bright red mittens hang by the fireplace in place of holiday stockings ready to be filled by St. Nicholas on Christmas morning. What is better than the smell of freshly baked holiday treats? Candy Cane Cookies, Russian Tea Cakes, Almond Roca, and Pecan Tarts are just a few of our family favorites that you can enjoy with a cup of Christmas Tea.

Explore activities and events available during your stay. It’s not the holiday season without taking in some shopping in downtown Seattle where the tree-lined streets are decked out in small white lights and store fronts are decorated with holiday decor. It’s a perfect time to take in a musical or theater production like “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever,” “A Christmas Carol,” or Pacific Northwest Ballet’s “The Nutcracker.”

Experience “Seattle Center’s Winterfest” with an ice rink, winter train, and daily entertainment; or board one of the Christmas Ships that lead a parade of decorated boats around Puget Sound waters throughout December.

We invite you to join the spirit of the holidays in the Pacific Northwest at The Guest House Bed & Breakfast.
